“CABO 2024” CINEMATIC

Sometimes life feels so surreal, you should make a movie trailer out of it.

One of my oldest friends is getting married in a few months and decided that he wanted his bachelor party to be in Cabo. 11 day ones deep, it was decided that we do an all-inclusive party resort (PARTY being the operative word there). This was my first resort ever so this was a new experience for me. I’ve always heard of how these things worked but never understood the appeal. I’m not one to travel to another country just to stay within the walls of a place that couldn’t ever completely define what that country could offer. However, doing this with some of the oldest friends you have completely changes that situation and you quickly realize that you need to get out of that mindset and focus on just leaving reality for a bit and when you have good people around, the shared experience is something you can’t really ever forget.

I knew I wanted to do a bit of shooting so I brought 4 cameras (2 mirrorless bodies, a 35mm rangefinder, and a gimbal camera). The first day on this trip, I broke my phone (long story). What was a huge bummer in the beginning turned into a blessing - I was more present in the moment and was able to focus on capturing memories happening right in front of me with the cameras that I brought. If that didn’t happen, I’m not entirely sure I’d have as much footage as I did at the end. With that said, I promised the squad a movie.

BAND4BAND played almost everywhere we go so it made sense the boys picked this track for this edit. Between the photos (that I really should post soon) and videos, it was also hard to compress an entire week of laughs and fucking around into a short video so hopefully there will be time in the future to make a longer one to share with the people I shared this experience with. One that’s much less safe for work :)

If you have people you know you can trust and have your back without a doubt, I highly recommend dedicating at least a week to leaving the country and doing nothing but being focused on having fun.
